Temporary cover to protect Turbine base

A Transitional Post or TP, connects the seabed foundation to the wind turbine. As electrical components are assembled to the TP, the TP is open to the elements prior to the wind turbine is in place. A TP cover  protects the switch gear and internal working space inside the TP. The working space underneath the cover allows cable pulling and cable termination operations to take place prior to turbine installation.

All offshore wind farms suffer from the same recurring issues due to inadequate cover which leads to additional costs and delays in construction. The issues are:
  •     Ripped TP tents and exposed switch gears and working spaces
  •     Lack of ventilation in the workspace of the TP which leads to toxic mould growth
  •     Lack of ventilation for toxic gases during cable termination
  •     TP's not accessible due to CTV limits
  •     Bulky/awkward to move TP Covers
  •     Inflexible and uncomfortable working conditions

At Offshore Consulting we design and engineer our TP Covers to meet the requirements of the Wind Park owner. Having the most patent and patent applied for technology in storm proof TP covers in the world, allows us to incorporate ventilation, helihoisting, cable pulling, increased access for emergency situations,  as well as easy logistic solutions.

Our covers are manufactured using recyclable materials where possible and are designed to be reusable and/or fully recyclable.
